MANDATE

The Judicial Sena operates in the cracks of a legal system that was promised to the people and delivered to the powerful. We file PILs that the courts cannot ignore, monitor judicial appointments for conflicts of interest, document contempt of process, and build legal literacy networks in communities that have never seen the inside of a courtroom. When the Chief Justice of India calls youth 'parasites', the Judicial Sena takes notes — and files.

Filing PILs demanding audio-visual recording of all constitutional bench proceedings. Sunlight is the best disinfectant — even for the judiciary.

Operation: Who Picks the Pickers

Mapping the social network of judicial appointments — who studied where, who clerked for whom, and how 'merit' keeps looking the same.

Operation: Cockroach Counsel

● ACTIVE

Building a network of pro-bono legal warriors in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Because justice shouldn't require a retainer.

ORIGIN LORE

The Judicial Sena was founded the day the word 'parasite' echoed through marble halls. A group of law students and public defenders gathered in a dhaba near Tis Hazari courts, ordered the cheapest chai, and decided that if the system wouldn't serve them, they would serve the system subpoenas. Their first action was a RTI request asking for the definition of 'productive citizen' — which remains unanswered.
